Types of Insulation Available
Click below to find out what insulation options we can provide:
Loft Insulation
The UK currently has one of the oldest housing profiles in Europe. This means most of these older houses were built without energy efficiency in mind. Around 25% of the heat in your home will be lost through the roof if it isn’t insulated or is inadequately insulated. Green Energy Advisory can facilitate the installation or upgrading of loft insulation at no cost to you. This could reduce energy bills by £100s per year, and also reduce your carbon footprint.
Cavity Wall Insulation
A Cavity Wall is where the external wall of a property consists of two masonry (brick or block) walls, with a cavity of at least 40mm between. If your property was built after 1930, then it is likely to have Cavity Walls. Cavity Wall Insulation is installed by drilling a number of holes on the joints of the outer wall, and injecting a bonded polystyrene bead, which expands to insulate the gap between the two walls. Once the cavity is full, the holes are filled and colour matched as closely as possible to the original outer wall colour. Green Energy Advisory can help you have CWI installed for free.
Internal Wall Insulation
Internal wall insulation, or IWI, is the insulation of the internal surface of the external walls with insulated plasterboard. Around 50% of all heat loss from solid walled properties is through the walls. Insulating these walls will therefore reduce the rate of heat loss and keep the warmth inside your home for longer, reducing your energy bills and carbon footprint. An added bonus of IWI is that it can improve the internal appearance of a property too. Green Energy Advisory can help you have IWI installed for free.
External Wall Insulation
External Wall Insulation, or EWI involves fixing insulated panels to the outer wall of a property, and then applying an aesthetically pleasing render finish. This can transform the appearance of a property, and you will be presented with a number of options prior to install. Around 50% of all heat loss from solid walled properties is through the walls. Insulating these walls will therefore reduce the rate of heat loss and keep the warmth inside your home for longer, reducing your energy bills and carbon footprint. Green Energy Advisory can help you have EWI installed for free.
Room in Roof Insulation
The UK currently has one of the oldest housing profiles in Europe. This means most of these older houses were built without energy efficiency in mind. Around 25% of the heat in your home will be lost through the roof if it isn’t insulated or is inadequately insulated. Green Energy Advisory can facilitate the installation of Room in Roof insulation at no cost to you. This could reduce energy bills by £100s per year, and reduce your carbon footprint too.
